Welcome
to Summer which officially begins on June 21, the longest day
of the year and to The Alchemist.
Mother Nature is in full glory in this season to stop and smell
the roses and it is your signal to suspend hurry/scurry and
just RELAX!
Think about this: wouldn’t it be wonderful to lie on the
grass and watch the clouds morph into dragons or ships or horses?
And imagine how exhilarating it would be to jump off a float
anchored in the middle of the river and frolic in the water?
Or just sit quietly in a meadow daydream for awhile in the sun?
Oh I know that’s probably not going to happen. We’re
all so busy. Sad to think that many of us are so chained to
work we lose touch with Mother Nature’s gifts to us. Even
sadder to know that we lose touch with our own inner wonder
too when we block the healing joys and lessons of Mother Nature
that are available to us.
But think about Summer in this moment. Take a few minutes to
ponder the returning cycle of warm breezes, flowers in bloom,
bushes full of raspberries, and thunderstorms on the horizon.
Breathe in the smell of rain on the wind.
 |
The
physical reality of summer and its promises are mirrored
in your inner realm and can be tapped to provide relaxation
and inspiration wherever you are.
Even if you are unable to lie on the grass and survey
the clouds, you are able to call up the free and easy
feeling you once enjoyed as you hiked in the forest or
splashed in a mountain brook, rode your horse or daydreamed
in a meadow. |
Those experiences are imprinted in your heart and soul, ready
to give solace and bear fruit even in the middle of a tense
meeting or a long workday. |
As you set your intention to enjoy your inner realm of
summer you will be led to re-connect with invigorating
physical and metaphysical Summer Blessings:
Expanded lightness of being (as in longer days).
Freedom of expression (symbolized by not being bundled
up in heavy overcoats).
Blossoming awareness (symbolized by open doors and windows
welcoming the season in, not denying it access). |
 |
|
I’m
setting my intention to enjoy summer for the next 12 months!
Perhaps you will do the same.

I
want to share with you what is happening in my life. I’ve
fallen in love again ...with horses!!!
I originally discovered Epona, the Horse Goddess legend
in my research about myth and legend for my jewelry designs
about two years ago. |
|
As
you probably know, my purpose is to empower women through
beautiful jewelry that encompasses myth and legend with gemstones.
The moment I discovered Epona, my life began to change. I
was immediately drawn back to the intensity of my love of
horses as a child.
I was never near horses, never learned to ride, never even
touched a real one until I was an adult. But I was fascinated
by them anyway.
The symbolism of freedom, strength, beauty and grace opened
my heart like nothing else (except my soulmate). My husband
John and I are both being taken on a soul journey that’s
quite amazing. In essence we’re following breadcrumbs
the universe has laid down for our direction and continuing
journey.
| I’ve
discovered the depth of a horse’s ability to heal—children
with disabilities, women with cancer, depressed adolescents—a
horse’s serene strength heals the turmoil of disease
and disconnection. What a noble animal! |
 |
I’m learning to ride horses, groom them, care for them,
respect them. My husband is in training to become an Equine
Massage Therapist. We’re being guided to move from Los
Angeles where we’ve lived for 35 years to somewhere
that has room for horses and will bring us in closer contact
with Mother Nature.
|
|
My
jewelry designs for women who love horses have flowed
through me with amazing clarity and vision.
I’ve designed a powerful piece in sterling silver
of a woman and a horse—hair streaming wide and
free. It’s a gorgeous symbol of the connection
between women and horses, the innate nobility and gifts
of freedom, strength, beauty and grace we share across
the species. |
I recognize myself in the myth of Epona, the warrior goddess
who protects women, babies, mares and foals and I’m
thrilled with that recognition.
I’ve always been an animal lover, savior, trainer, and
breeder. Now I intend to focus on how to enjoy an association
with these magnificent animals and be a space to change the
preoccupation with using them and with stopping the thoughtless
slaughter and abuse that goes unanswered.
Ancient wisdom made the horse the epitome of good fortune
and salvation. Modern wisdom must find a way to respect and
honor the horse’s unique essence without exploiting
them.
 |
To stop the slaughter you could write to your senators
to vote for The American Horse Slaughter Prevention
Act. You could also take action at www.hsus.org/horses
Or you could help get the word
out about the slaughter of
100,000 American horses for
food export to Asia each year.
|
|
Unwanted
race horses, wild horses, stolen horses, pet
horses killed in a terrible,
torturous procedure for food.
Or you could help with funds at:

This beautiful gemstone not only energizes vision and
awareness, it influences heart and throat chakra characteristics.
Blue is the color associated with the throat chakra; green
is associated with the heart chakra. Aquamarine encompasses
both of those colors in a pastel wash of power. |
|
This gemstone encourages following your heart’s desires
and being open to love and compassion for self and others. And
it draws forth inspired self expression and communication from
your inner bank of wisdom.
If you want to know what your heart’s depths and desires
are or wish to know how to live from the heart this is the perfect
gemstone to wear. Or if you need to possess sparkling charisma
and speak with inspiration and clarity, this is the gemstone
for you.
I wear Aquamarine when I want to tell inspirational stories
about personal empowerment and beauty. I think it’s one
of the most powerful and beautiful gemstones in the vast field
of mineral treasures. |

In all species, when danger is present, a circle is the
strongest safety maneuver one can make.
Gather together, back to back or face to face, arm in
arm to present a united front against the enemy.
Whether you wish to believe it or not, women are in more
danger in the present time than at any time since the
witch burnings of the 18th century or the Inquisition
murders and tortures of the Middle Ages. |

Looks are deceiving. The media is deceiving. You see and read
about women advancing in industry, politics, education and the
arts. True. A few women. Very few considering the millions who
are working. But women are making less and less money for their
labors compared to men. Even education is not helping as a recent
study found. The dollar value of women’s output is decreasing.
Poverty is the main ingredient in keeping women under control.
It’s still a good ol boys network in case you haven’t
noticed.
When we have no say over our body and our soul we are doomed
to intellectual slavery. Our rights to determine what happens
to our body are not only in jeopardy, they will be restricted
if the same political elements stay in place. Continuous wars
will be a given because of our military industrial complex if
women don’t step up and become a Circle of Power. Women
will continue to send their loved ones off to slaughter....unless
and until we form circles of protection and influence.
 |
I
opposed this war from the beginning.
I marched, I demonstrated, I wrote letters.
I believe peace is patriotic.
I want husbands, fathers, daughters, mothers home. I want
them home now.
I always wanted them home.
I don’t want even one of them to be a statistic.
|
My father was killed when I was 7 years old and I lost something
I could never regain. I grieved for years. Over his loss. My
father’s death was an accident, not a deliberate act by
an elitist government. I know the grief intimately that is wrapping
its tentacles around these children when they're told a parent
won't be coming home. It extinguishes all light and throws you
into a hell that most other people cannot comprehend. We must
send these children - and wives and husbands of lost ones -
comfort and guidance as often as possible.
So
I would like to ask you these questions:
- When are you going to
join a Circle of women?
- When are you going to Form a Circle of women?
- There is an organization called Gather the Women.
When will you join them?
- There is an organization called Crone Council.
When will you join them?
- When will women (womyn) become a force
for equality on the planet?
- When will you look into your soul and say
I am here to make a difference?
|
Women don’t have to
go it alone.
Circles of women
are...
nurturing
nourishing
inspiring
protective
unbelievably funny
and sometimes raucous.
|

Women are meant to run with the wolves (listen to our intuition
and be unique) as Clarissa Pinkola Estes reminds us in her book
Women Who Run with the Wolves.
I have advised this as mandatory reading since it was first
published in 1990. Simply, if you are a woman, this is required
reading.
Back to back, face to face, arm in arm, in circles women can
change the world for our daughters and our granddaughters, for
our sons and our grandsons. When will we do that? |

I
Feng Shui my house and garden every Solstice and every
Equinox.
I always find something askew or amiss in some room: a
plant that’s not healthy, a clock that’s stopped
ticking, closets or drawers stuffed or messy, or a burned
out light. |
|
None of those seem terribly bad, but each is problematic and
an invitation to de-harmonize my living.
I noticed last week that I hadn’t had as many inquiries
about my books lately and checked out my ‘Helpful People
& Travel’ area. I have a gorgeous bonze Celtic clock
that we’d brought back from Ireland. It rests on the mantel
in that area. It had stopped....a reflection of my book sales.
As soon as I replaced the battery, it began to tick, the energy
began to come alive in that space. I checked my email. I had
an order. It’s really that simple.
 |
Feng Shui is the Chinese Art of Placement that I have
been passionate about since I discovered it about 15 years
ago.
I use it constantly with excitement and anticipation of
how much better my life works when colors and objects
are in their perfect place.
I also consult in person and online using Feng Shui principles.
Since Feng Shui is based on
the I Ching, an ancient Chinese philosophy which I also
study. |
I have great confidence in the wisdom of the Sages and Mystics
of the past (like Lao Tsu) to show me how to live a fulfilled
and prosperous life in modern America in the midst of chaotic
Los Angeles.
You can begin to Feng Shui your home by opening the windows
and allowing the fresh breezes in. By de-cluttering cupboards,
closets, drawers, etc. Remember you can’t hide disorder.
And be sure your drains are closed and your toilet lids down—no
sense letting prosperity go down the drain. These would be good
ways to start re-energizing the place where you live. |

in Possibility."...Emily Dickinson

One
way to remove all blocks to your prosperity, health, career,
love life and more is to call on Ganesh, the Hindu deity
known as the Elephant God.
I’m sure you’ve seen statues of Ganesh—this
abundant figure with a very long trunk on his elephant
head.
He is one of the most popular Hindu deity's simply because
he brings joy and happiness to those who see him and he
is the destroyer of evil and obstacles. Who couldn’t
use a destroyer of obstacles as their guide? |
 |
I carry a statue of Ganesh with me wherever I exhibit my jewelry
and books. He holds center stage at my booth at festivals and
art fairs. And in my studio. And when my prosperity begins to
go into one of its ‘waning’ cycles I write and say
this affirmation:
Om Gum Ganapataya NaMaHa an affirmation given to me by a Hindu
priestess many years ago. It works every time to up-level my
prosperity consciousness and it kick all blocks out of my way.
FAST.
Here is the affirmation phonetically:
Ohm Gum Gahn-na-pa-tay-ah Na Ma Ha.
Say it as many times as you can. Write it as many times as you
can.
"If
you say nothing, you are in agreement." ...Anonymous

The
Goddess myths are a woman’s way of connecting to
the Divine & Sacred Feminine.
Most of us were raised with the male image representing
the ONLY image of divinity. And that is only half the
story for half the population. The other half of the story
is females and the goddess.
Goddesses
represent the ways for us to understand our unique physiology—pregnancy,
birth, cycles, menopause.
|
Goddesses teach us how to celebrate those physical blessings
in ritual and camaraderie and not be ashamed of them as patriarchy
insisted. Goddesses taught us how we could be leaders, hunters,
mothers...that we could be whatever we wanted to be. Patriarchy
demanded we be one thing only—inferior.
The Goddesses—Hathor, Artemis, Aphrodite—to
name three—show us how sacred and authentic it is
to be a female healer or a hunter.
You may be passionate or cerebral. It matters not.
We follow our inner guidance system, a system connected
to Spirit.
Goddesses take us from scared to sacred! |

A recent article in the New York Times reported on a study that
found that the pay gap between men’s salaries and women’s
salaries is widening and gets wider the more experience a women
has. The study’s conclusion was that higher education
for women was not going to be a factor in equality in the work
place. Something more would be needed.
Artemis |
This
is what I think: That ‘something more’ is
understanding your Goddess nature and your connection
to the Sacred Feminine—you as warrior, mystic, healer,
teacher, global leader.
‘Something more’ also means supporting each
other—not supporting the divide-and-conquer mentality
we were programmed into.
It means voting for women, giving to charities that support
women and children. It means stopping the gossip and the
jealousy about each other. |
‘Something more’ must kick in now.
Let’s do a little ’something more’ today.

The Age of Aquarius. It is dawning. The Great Age of Aquarius
which we’ve heard so much about in song and story is at
our doorstep. Some say this Age began in the 1990’s; others
predict its birth anywhere from the year 2,000 to as late as
2160. Whenever it begins it will last until the year 4,000.
The great hope of this Age is that it will be the awakening
of a new world order of peace and harmony. A new world order
that has been dreamed of since Eve and Adam. An Age where the
needs of humanity are of primary importance.
Let it be written about us, the cusp people of the Age of Pisces/Aquarius
that in this in-between stage we were bold and courageous. That
we rejected the baseness of greed that clothed our elders; that
the callous disregard of the human being was reversed by us.
That government of the people, by the people and for the people
returned....what a wonderful world this would be. Can be. Will
be. Is.” |

I’ve
worn so many hats in my life
it’s hard to know where to begin.
My careers have included:
Editor of Science of Mind magazine, a monthly philosophy
journal started in 1929 by Ernest Holmes. With a subscriber
base of 90,000 readers.
Founding Editor/Designer of Inner
Visions. Publisher/Graphic Designer: SOS Press, which
is still under my ownership. And, a Spiritual Coach for
25 years. |
|
My grandmother taught me to read tea leaves ...practiced to
this day.
For
10 years I bred and showed Lhasa Apsos. Bred the Purina Dog
Chow Top Show Dog of the Year and Best In Show Champion Yojimbo
Orion (my other true love).
Of the 5 books that I have written, one was a bestseller on
Amazon.com
I’ve been married 3 times, once to an abuser, once to
a savior and now to my Soul Mate, John, for 30 years. Together,
we have restored 8 fixer-upper houses, and live in one we can’t
leave - a Craftsman in Los Angeles built in 1910. We owned and
operated a 35’ cruiser named Odyssey, and conducted brunch
cruises to Catalina. I have been blessed with 2 wonderful children
(Karen and Stephen) and 3 great grandchildren (Stephanie, RJ
and Matt).
Drumming is one of my passions on an ancient Celtic drum, the
Bodhran and facilitating several Wise Woman Circles and full
moon drumming. As a Storyteller/Jewelry Designer I design jewelry
that tells stories to motivate and inspire women through beauty.
Born in the Year of the Dragon, I am a Virgo with an Aquarius
Rising Sign ...a Feng Shui consultant with an ‘A’
type personality, who loves
to knit, garden, travel, read and do Sudoku puzzles and Cryptograms.
And, crazy about words, music, ancient wisdom, color, Mother
Nature and animals. John calls me an introverted extrovert.
My genealogy that I am following goes back to Ireland, Germany
and France. Each day I meditate, journal and chant. And I feel
like I'm just getting started!
But wait ...think about it; you’ll see that you
also wear many hats.
Why? Because women are fabulous multi-taskers!
