Epona—"Spirit
Horse" Jewelry
There
is a bonded spirit between a woman and her horse that
words will never do justice to. It is a heart and
soul bond that synchronizes freedom, valor, beauty
and strength.
Women and horses are often referred to as ‘spirited’
as in feisty, rebellious, independent. But ‘spirited’
goes beyond the mundane. To me ‘spirited’
means connected to the Creative Power with the ability
to heal, nurture, inspire and awaken.
Women & horses have those gifts. That’s
why I so love this design line "Spirit Horse"
and why wearing a lock of your horse’s hair
is such an incredible connection. It transcends physical
boundaries.

Together

It’s been a thrill to discover Epona, the Horse
Goddess. I love her romantic and
adventurous image. However, I have also uncovered the
dark side—the plight of these magnificent animals.

cruel living conditions of
the Premarin (Hormone Replacement Therapy)
mares and their foals, and when they are replaced
they go to slaughter. |

surplus of racehorses who are sold at
auction houses for eventual slaughter. |

| |
The
abuse and neglect that is rampant in stockyards holding
horses for slaughter for consumption
in Europe and Asia. |

It
is heartbreaking how humans treat these animals.
My
profit margin on my jewelry is slim, but please know that
10% of
every piece of Epona jewelry you buy goes to the Wild
Horse Rescue in
Lancaster, CA that rescues horses.
And,
if you are on Hormone Replacement Therapy (as I was for
years) please give generously to your favorite horse rescue
fund. And/or consider alternate ways to live with those
‘power surges’.
If
you are interested in another rescue organization, there
is the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation (TRF). Their
mission is to save racehorses from slaughter.
