Horses,
dogs, cats and...Alchemy.
I’m sure you’re asking
what possible connection there
could be with alchemy and animals?
The answer is: love of,
obsession with, master to, companion
of, protector of, revelations
from - just a few of the connections
(entanglements) we have with horses,
dogs, cats and alchemy. I’ll
explain as we go along about the
magic and mystery of entrainment
and entanglement
...modern alchemy. |
|
Horses, dogs, cats and other
animals symbolize pure, unadulterated
love. The definition of Alchemy
is change/transformation: transforming
lead into gold, problems into solutions
or moving from one focus to another.
Alchemy utilizes mystery, medieval wizardry,
the philosophers stone, personal genius...it
is the elixir of life. My
focus, my husband’s focus and
this publication’s focus is on
changing and resolving how we can be
part of the solution for animals well
being rather than the problem.
That effort will take some wizardry,
alchemy and more. Animals and alchemy
combined symbolize change for us and
for animals, for Mother Earth, and hopefully
for a paradigm shift for respect and
partnership status for women and all
animals. |
So...
This e-newsletter, The Alchemist,
is changing focus-as I am.
As a jewelry designer specializing
in unique wearable art I am following
the breadcrumbs the universe drops
on my path, morphing into a more
animal oriented lifestyle and
publication with a focus on giving
back to all species-including
women! |

My focus is to
design and sell jewelry to highlight
the beauty of women and animals.
It is my passion. A few of
my designs are shown in this e-newsletter.
I follow my bliss by highlighting the
power and nobility of women and animals
in my jewelry using gemstones, sterling
silver, crystals and found objects.
Beauty is my beat!

Focusing on animals is taking
me full circle to my younger days
as an animal rescuer and a successful
breeder/exhibitor of champion
Lhasa Apsos.
But on this
current spiral of the alchemic
circle I’m a different woman.
I believe I now have the
knowledge, wisdom, skills
and experience, the fierce, feisty
nature of a Crone and the unwillingness
to suffer fools gladly.
Those characteristics should serve
women and animals well. |
I adore horses, dogs, cats,
and am in awe of elephants, tigers,
big cats ...you name an animal. I
love it (there are a few exceptions!)
My Epona Horse Goddess line
of jewelry is a reflection
of my focus on Equus. I am a Reiki
Master specializing in animal
healing and communication. My husband
is a certified Equine Sports
Massage Therapist using Equitouch and
TTouch. We are being drawn
to the healing arts for animals and
feeling blessed to be of service.
Personal energy and gemstone energy
are extraordinarily powerful when
entrained and/or entangled...it
gives us a power boost to wear
gemstones.
Scientific research is proving
that energies of all things will
combine, engage and cause an alchemic
shift to happen. |

Entrainment is essentially the
same thing but primarily defined
with medical and emotional benefits.
I’ve proven both to be true
in my life.
So, you could say that
my jewelry is designed
with alchemic purpose to uplift,
power up, remind women
of their noble traits and authenticity.
My jewelry reminds women of who
they are. |
I am drawn to the studio and the
barn-beauty surrounds me in both
places-the studio with color,
shapes, gemstones, myth and legend,
the barn with power, strength,
beauty and nobility.
I am convinced that beauty is
a spiritual path (inner and outer
beauty) and I’m
being drawn into the beauty of
our human connection to animals
as well as our
spiritual connection to gemstones
and Mother Earth.
My focus is to draw women into
their leadership roles with gemstone
information and awareness with
Epona, the Horse Goddess
as my Muse. |

If
you have an animal that is ailing
or unhappy, the ancient healing
practice of Reiki will restore
his/her vitality. As a
Reiki Master integrating
Usui, Tibetan and Chikara teachings
my focus is working with horses,
dogs, and cats for physical and
emotional healing. |
One
of the animals I’m currently working
with is a horse named Bobbi who damaged
his eye while he was rolling on fresh
shavings. The veterinarian was called
immediately and treated his eye with
medication. And I treated him with universal
healing energy vibrations.
Bobbi was also abused, as many animals
are, either purposefully or through
ignorance, and I’m using the secret,
sacred symbols of this ancient art to
mend his broken heart and help him live
a happy life. I know healing his heart
is also healing mine. I am available
for hands on and distance Reiki-universal
energy knows no boundaries so being
in the physical space of a participant
is not a requirement. That’s
the wonder of Holistic practices. We
can’t explain them but we can
reap their benefits. |

I’m
not the Horse Whisperer, but I
have always been able to communicate
with animals. As a young girl
this ability was painful simply
because I could hear the
problems the animals
had but had no power to resolve
anything. So I closed off this
avenue of communication, and grew
up loving animals but walling
off my intuitive connection with
them.
Now, I’ve torn down that
wall and am again allowing my
intuitive ability to hear animals.
I will make a difference as I
hope you will in honoring and
respecting the intelligence, beauty,
and guidance animals have for
us.
Alchemy & love are the keys
to change and transformation.
You, Alchemy & Animals, a
powerful trio. |

Did
you know that the metaphysical
meaning of the horse is
strength, freedom, beauty? As
well as grace.
That’s why women are drawn
to horses...because those are
the very same attributes of a
woman: beauty, strength, freedom
and grace!
From our ancient past to now,
humans need symbols and myths
to help strengthen and inspire
us: cave walls were filled with
drawings of horses, other animals,
women, children and men. |
Those drawings gave our ancestors motivation,
courage and subjects for reflection
and inner guidance. Symbols
are even more powerful today for us.
Know what symbols and myth inspire you.
Look at those. Wear those in gemstones.
The reason you feel sooooo powerful
and joyful when you wear an image
of a horse, a goddess or some
other symbol is that you
become connected in the
synergy of freedom, strength,
beauty and grace.
In my book Legends of
the Stones I explain
many of the symbols, myths and
gemstones you can wear to inspire
and motivate yourself to be all
you were meant to be.
Ancient women were strong,
free, courageous and not easily
intimidated.

The
drawing that shows a Neanderthal with
a club dragging a woman by her hair
is just so much wishful thinking on
the part of today’s patriarchal
types. It never happened.

Epona
the Horse Goddess was
honored by men and women alike.
In ancient times horses represented
survival. If a woman could manage
a 1500 pound beast she was surely
a woman to be respected, honored
and one not to be trifled with.
Epona was that
symbol for many including the
Celts and the Romans. She was
also (and still is) the symbol
of protection for females of all
species: baby, foal, cub, woman,
mare, lioness
-it matters not the species; if
you are female, Epona
protects you. |
The creation of life begins in
a woman’s second chakra-the
womb-the place of creation of
ALL things whether a child, an
animal, a painting, a design or
a idea.
That’s why orange
is such a powerful color;
it is the color associated with
our creation chakra. Warm, vibrant,
pulsating with life itself.
To be more creative in all things
wear orange clothing, eat orange
colored fruits and veggies and
don gorgeous orange jewelry: amber,
carnelian, jasper. |

There is an incredibly
inspiring video of 4 women and
their rescue of 200 horses in
Denmark. This 7:17 video
is set to music by Vangelis. It
will make you weep and jump for
joy at the sheer gutsy genius
of women and horses.
The thrilling rescue speaks to
the deep trust developed over
the centuries between women and
horses. To view the video, Click

Those women are an example of
who we are meant to be as women,
why we are, the stuff we’re
made of. They represent true beauty
and strength in action! |

My
personal belief is that women
did not come into this lifetime
to be pole dancers, slaves to
men, the church, the government
or our diseases and inadequacies.
Women were created, I
think, to discover how much we
can accomplish as females—creative,
nurturing, teaching.
Women are the Hierophants for
this millennium. We must not pretend
to be other than we are...leaders,
teachers, lovers, friends. |
Women
must lead, teach, create, love, nurture,
protect and embody happiness for: children
(our own children, other people’s
children as well the offspring of all
animals), our soulmates, our
ideals, and our planet. That’s
a big job. But guess who’s qualified
to manage all this? YOU!
And one beautiful way to empower
these qualities is by wearing Turquoise
which symbolizes leadership.
Be the woman of myth and legend
and write your own myth. Be courageous,
strong, independent, loving, intelligent.
You already believe in
negotiation rather than force,
practice partnership rather than
dictatorship, can yield or push
with equal skill, can purr like
a kitten or growl like a tiger!
The Feminine Energy is Caretaker....of
people, animals, the environment
and the planet, the chosen ones
for this next spiral of creation.
So, it’s up to us. It’s
up to women.
The supreme multi-taskers and
alchemists.

not now, when? If not me, then who?
I’d like to present that question

Do
you know that you have a Power
Animal-an animal guide
that helps protect you and symbolizes
the legend and myth you are to
follow to gain insight and spiritual
progress?
Native Americans have always known
that we are each blessed with
one or more Power Animals. All
indigenous cultures around the
world honor the animal kingdom.
In our ancient past we too were
aware of our deep connection with
all animals. |
Sadly, we have forgotten their
physical and metaphysical gifts for
us, their essence as part of the family
of living creatures-humankind is only
one part of the whole of the makeup
of life although many act as though
humanity is the ONLY essence created
by a Higher Power.
Every animal represents a quality or
essence we can emulate or explore.
We are drawn to an animal with our soul.
For instance, my Power (Totem) Animal
is a Black Panther. The gorgeous Panther
with green eyes came to me in a meditation
many years ago. When I volunteered at
Tippi Hedren’s Shambala Preserve,
one of the animals I adopted and helped
care for (at a distance) was a female
Black Panther. Her beauty took my breath
away; she was sleek and graceful and
her eyes felt like a window to her soul.
The
symbology of the Black Panther
means embracing the unknown. Being
attracted to the Black Panther
means that is a major trait for
me to embody. And it is a characteristic
that perfectly explains who I
am.
I’ve enthusiastically lived
a life of ‘embracing
the unknown’ from
the time I can remember-through
forced circumstances as well as
through deliberate choice. I’m
ever inquisitive about what’s
next, what’s beyond the
next corner, the next goal.
The Black Panther symbolizes also
that I must seek the unknown within,
to discover where healing and
growth is required. Seek out your
Power Animal to help you understand
different aspects of yourself
as well as the nobility of all
animals. |

Here
are a few animals and what they symbolize.
Whatever animal you are always attracted
to or fascinated with is the one whose
qualities you have intended to work
with and help.
Frog:
long life; access to the subconscious
(water)
Dogs: loyalty
to self, to friends, your ideals
and your dreams. Be your own best
friend.
Cats: always
another opportunity, contentment,
seeing deeply into the dark night
(of the evening or of the soul).
Looking beyond the obvious.
Wolf: the pathfinder,
the forerunner of new ideas who
returns to the clan to teach and
share.
Hummingbird:
the energy of pure joy, beauty
and the taste of nectar and bliss.
Awakening to spiritual wonder
of who you are.
Butterfly: transformation.
Grows from caterpillar, crawling
on the ground, to beautiful butterfly
soaring in the air and touching
the heavens. Symbolizes you can
leave problems to find solutions.
Dragonfly: the
essence of courage, beauty, and
being inquisitive. It flits from
place to place, unafraid and content
in its shimmering colors. Unafraid
because it is rumored it was once
the Dragon! Be courageous in all
you do.
Horse: strength,
courage, freedom. In old tales
the horse was the Transport of
shamans and mystics to reach heaven
and the gods (Pegasus). |

I
design handmade journals and miniature
storybooks because I
love making paper and working
with its different textures, adding
flowers and gemstones and trinkets.
Must be the Gypsy in me!
Each storybook has the following
motivational story,
but each cover is one of a kind.
This is a lovely gift to yourself
or a friend to remind you who
you are. |
The Story begins: Me & My Myth.
This is the mythical truth about
You: Who
you are, who you were and who you will
be.
Once upon a time long,
long ago and far, far away, and yet
in this present moment, my intellect,
creativity and beauty filled my being
and expressed as wisdom, compassion
and insight.
My heart, soul and life purpose lived
through me then and now with excitement
and noble intent. If I have allowed
those talents, gifts and awareness to
falter, now is the moment to embrace
them once again and live my life as
it was meant to be lived with passion,
compassion, and vitality.
|
I
am a gifted woman of Essence,
Spirit, and spunk and I must
remember who I am.
I am sacred. I am related
to the Earth, the Universe...to
all living things.
I am memory of what was and
dreamer of what could be.
I have the power to change,
to heal...to make a difference,
and to be accountable for all
I do.
I intend to thrive, persevere
and be the woman I was meant
to be! Ah-woman!
Harvest
is upon us.
Reap your rewards in the days
of Autumn to come and invite
all the colors to awaken your
chakras and energize your life.

Dr.
Elaine Maginn Sonne, PhD &
"Alick" |
I’ve
worn so many hats in my life
it’s hard to know where
to begin.
My careers have included:
Editor of Science of Mind magazine,
a monthly philosophy journal started
in 1929 by Ernest Holmes. With
a subscriber base of 90,000 readers.
Founding Editor/Designer of Inner
Visions. |
|
Publisher/Graphic Designer: SOS Press,
which is still under my ownership. And,
a Spiritual Coach for 25 years.
My grandmother taught me to read tea
leaves ...which I still practiced.
For
10 years I bred and showed Lhasa Apsos.
Bred the Purina Dog Chow Top Show Dog
of the Year and Best In Show Champion
Yojimbo Orion (my other true love).
Of the 5 books that I have written,
one was a bestseller on Amazon.com
I’ve been married 3 times, once
to an abuser, once to a savior and now
to my Soul Mate, John, for 30 years.
Together, we have restored 8 fixer-upper
houses, and live in one we can’t
leave - a Craftsman in Los Angeles built
in 1910. We owned and operated a 35’
cruiser named Odyssey, and conducted
brunch cruises to Catalina. I have been
blessed with 2 wonderful children (Karen
and Stephen) and 3 great grandchildren
(Stephanie, RJ and Matt).
Drumming is one of my passions on an
ancient Celtic drum, the Bodhran and
facilitating several Wise Woman Circles
and full moon drumming. As a Storyteller/Jewelry
Designer I design jewelry that tells
stories to motivate and inspire women
through beauty.
Born in the Year of the Dragon, I am
a Virgo with an Aquarius Rising Sign
....I’m a Reiki Master and an
Animal Communicator and a Feng Shui
consultant with an ‘A’ type
personality, who loves to knit, garden,
travel, read and do Sudoku puzzles and
Cryptograms. And, crazy about words,
music, ancient wisdom, color, Mother
Nature and animals. John calls me an
introverted extrovert.
My genealogy that I am following goes
back to Ireland, Germany and France.
Each day I meditate, journal and chant.
And I feel like I'm just getting started!
But wait ...think about it;
you’ll see that you also wear
many hats.
Why? Because women are fabulous
multi-taskers!
